Spotlight on Specials...LIBRARY


	New Librarian and Reading Specialist, Erin Thack, helps 3rd graders choose books last week.

Erin Thack, our new Librarian and Reading Specialist, is excited to be at SRV! Erin was formerly a Reading Specialist in the Chester-Upland School District and has most recently been at home with her two children, Julia and Christian. (Look for Julia in Gloria and MariAnn's two day preschool -- she's the talkative one.)

Erin feels that the library is the heart of the school, the center of the school's learning community. She is looking forward to it being a busy place filled with children, teachers, and parents working together. Her plans for the year include special library activities, book discussion groups among parents, staff and children, and creating a space that is buzzing during choice time! Throughout the school day, Erin is encouraging teachers to send their whole class, small groups, or individual students who need research support or are interested in pursuing their passions through books.
