Application for Financial Aid - The School in Rose Valley, like most private independent schools throughout the country, uses the School and Student Service (SSS) for Financial Aid provided through the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). "SSS provides an objective and consistent method of determining a family's ability to contribute to educational expenses." Information provided by parents to SSS regarding income, assets, taxes, family size, unusual expenses, ages of the parents and more helps the school's Financial Aid Committee analyze individual families needs in the context the needs of all families applying for financial aid at the school. The Financial Aid Committee consists of the Business Manager, Head of School and Director of Admissions & Communications. All information required for the financial aid process is held in strictest confidence. Members of the staff and school community at large do not know which families receive aid.
Child Visit - Your last step will be to schedule a time for your child(ren) to visit our school by contacting the admissions office at 610-566-1088 or admissions@theschoolinrosevalley.org *
If applying for Preschool, Kindergarten, or First Grade you must reserve a spot at least two weeks in advance for the Saturday, January 26 (10:00-11:30) Visitation Day. If this date is impossible for you, we may be able to arrange a school-day visit.
Applicants for Grades 2 through 6, must visit on two consecutive days arranged in advance on an individual basis.
*Please note that you have to have initiated the application process prior to registering your child for the Child Visit. The first step in the application process is a tour of the school, the second step is to fill out and submit an application with your $35 non-refundable application fee per family. After these two steps, we will help you schedule your Child Visit as well as obtain any necessary paperwork.
First Review of Applications - The first review of applications is in late February. All complete applications (in which we have received all materials and the children have visited) will be considered for admission at this time. Notification of acceptance will be made by March 1.
Late review of applications - Applications that are not complete by or that are received later than February 15 will be handled on a rolling basis. If a Waiting Pool is established, the school will seek to accept students from the Pool who are good "fits" and who contribute to balanced classrooms. Please note that financial aid is rarely available after April 1.
Enrollment - Registration materials and an Enrollment Contract are sent with the letter of acceptance. Families have two weeks from the date of their letter of acceptance to let the school know if they plan to attend.
The School in Rose Valley admits students without regard to race, color, religious belief, ancestry, sex or national origin.
