Sara H., '02 writes "I am currently in my Junior year at Marple Newtown Senior High School. I am in the Choir, Marching Band, Concert Band, Swim Team, and National Honors Society. I was accepted to a student embassador program called American Music Abroad and will be traveling to Europe this Summer. I will be in Germany, Austria, and France. I have also been accepted into the Summer Music Technology program at Drexel University. That is a summer camp for kids going into the music industry, music technology, and recording business. I still go to May Fair every year and will keep going as long as I am in the neighborhood. Good luck to you all!!"

Michele Neely '82 writes: "I attended SRV from 1974 through 6th grade, graduating in 1982. I often
think about the wonderful times I had at SRV over those years. On occasion
I am able to make it back for Mayfair - always a fun time.
In 2003 I graduated Tyler School of Art with a B.F.A. in Fibers, minor in
Art History, concentration in Glass. Today I am the Performing Arts
Workshop Supervisor at the University of Pennsylvania."
Susan ("Gil") Gilbert Zencka, '67, writes:
"Amazing to know that it was 40 years ago last spring that I moved on from
SRV to 7th grade at (then) Swarthmore Jr.-Sr.High School, eventually
landing at Friends Select before college at Johns Hopkins 10 years after
finishing SRV.
I'm living in central Wisconsin, serving as pastor in Frame Presbyterian
Church in Stevens Point, and with my husband, anticipating the last of our
three sons (23, 20 & 17) graduating high school this year. My experiences
at SRV helped me to be a better parent, to help each son find the right
choice in his own schooling (they have been in public schools, parochial
schools and home schooling at various times – how I've longed for an SRV
option). I think that SRV also helped me to understand the arts as
integral to education, and the importance of responding to curiosity. I'm
not an artist, but art teacher Shirley Tassencourt's enthusiastic
encouragement helped me to appreciate my own gifts and who I am. As I
work in interfaith environmental ministry, I remember Ellie Fernald's work
with our class studying pollution in 1966-67. I'd love to hear about
others from the class of 1967! Thank you SRV for so much.
