High Spirits
Don’t Miss High Spirits –
November 6th at Hedgerow!
We need you... to come and party! High Spirits is just around the corner and
it is the perfect occasion to celebrate. Have you received your invitation and
sent in your reply card? Have you arranged for childcare? Please do both, and
soon, because this year we are planning something all together new and special.
Hedgerow Theatre, our neighbor and long time partner, is our co-sponsor of the event. The theatre and the school share a long history together and with the larger community of Rose Valley. This event marks a deepening in our relationship and a desire to collaborate, celebrate and preserve two great institutions. The theatre functions in large part due to the energetic and generous support of its volunteers and staff. They go far beyond the nine to five (sound familiar?) and truly feel passionate about the theatre’s work. Their local members’ passion for theater extends to the Rose Valley community and the School is recognized as one of the community’s great treasures. Members of Hedgerow’s Guild and SRV volunteers have been working since the end of the last school year to put together an event than can be a profitable as well as highly entertaining night out for you. Here is some of what we have planned.
To keep your spirits high we have a vodka & caviar bar, beer, wine and a full bar. Many restaurants and food establishments like Hill’s Seafood, The Trolley Stop, Margaret Kuo’s, Buono’s Bakery, Fellini Café, Kreative Katering, New Orleans Café, The Towne House, Stephen’s Prime, La Belle Epoque, La Na, Noodi, Acme Markets, The Coffee Club, 320 Produce, and others, have donated a wide variety of delicious, savory and sweet light fare for us to enjoy. Please consider taking your own business to theses spots in appreciation of their generosity. The Hedgerow actors will entertain and delight you throughout the evening. The entire theatre is open for guided explorations. Learn its history and secrets - there is rumor of a particular spirit in residence...
The Auction team has worked very hard to put together a sensational
assortment of items. There will be a live auction and a silent auction. Some
of the big-ticket items include vacation homes. For example, most hotels in
Hawaii have room service, but none have private yards to play in, 3 bedrooms
and 2 baths, fully appointed kitchens,
and the privacy to make noise and be a family with joyful and loud children
all day or night long. Dolphins regularly swim in this island paradise’s
main beach cove. Interested? Or would your family prefer Vermont, Maine, the
mountains of Pennsylvania or West Hampton? We’ve got it all. If you are
a lover of the arts you will find tickets to fine performances of the opera,
ballet, orchestra and more. Have you always dreamed of being on stage? Come
and bid on acting classes or the opportunity to make a cameo appearance in Hedgerow’s
A Christmas Carol. Original works of art are available including a hand-crafted
wood table by the very talented Bok Read. And so much more! You will receive
a more complete list of auction items soon in the mail.
I hope I’ve piqued your interest. Set aside Saturday, November 6th. Hedgerow’s doors will open at 5:00 p.m. with guided tours of the theater at 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30. The live auction will begin at 6:45. Looking forward to seeing you there!
In partnership,
Amy Stone, mother of Jude (3 day preschool) and Van (kindergarten)
