Book: Three Cups of Tea co-authored by Greg Mortenson

The School in Rose Valley is honored to host an Evening with Greg Mortenson, humanitarian and co-author of the New York Times bestseller Three Cups of Tea at the Media Theatre on Sunday, April 6 at 6:00 pm.

Tickets are $75 for an hour-long talk about Mortenson's work building schools across impoverished remote mountain villages in Pakistan and Afghanistan. A limited number of tickets are available for the talk and an additional private tea reception with Greg for $125. Proceeds will go towards building a school in Pakistan and to the SRV Financial Aid Fund.

Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg

Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Ginsburg is the author of several books and reports focusing on the health of children and adolescents including But I'm Almost Thirteen: An Action Plan to Raise a Responsible Adolescent, A Parents Guide to Building Resilience in Children and Teens: Giving Your Child Roots and Wings, and Less Stress More Success, coauthored with Marilee Jones, which focuses on aiding young adults with getting into college while remaining socially and emotionally balanced. Dr. Ginsburg is also the Medical Director of Covenant House, Pennsylvania, a care system that serves homeless, street, and marginalized youth in Philadelphia.

Dr. David Elkind

Dr. David Elkind, author of 18 books and countless articles on child development, is currently Professor of Child Development at Tufts University. He serves as a consultant to state education departments, government agencies and private foundations. He lectures extensively in the US, Canada and abroad and has appeared on The Today Show, The CBS Morning News, 20/20 and Oprah. Dr. Elkind co-hosted the Lifetime television series, Kids These Days, and is a past President of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). He may be best known for his popular books, The Hurried Child, All Grown Up and No Place to Go, and Miseducation.
