Symposium Schedule and Format
Learning Circles
Facing each challenge
October 2004 through April 2005
Every symposium participant will have the opportunity to take part in an on-line learning circle focusing on one of the challenges identified at the Fall Conference. The aim of the learning circles is to explore in depth these challenges confronting progressive education within the supportive environment of a learning community. The work of the learning circles will deepen the participants' understanding of the topic of concern and empower each individual to act on his/her beliefs. The groups' explorations will be shared at the Spring Conference.The symposium's learning circles are on-line discussion groups – virtual learning communities that have no fixed locations or time zones. Each web-based learning circle will have a facilitator who will support the group's discussions and investigations.
