SRV on-line auction

Come Preview items at Putter Day on April 19th - On-Line Auction opens 9am April 20th - ends 7pm April 25th. Please come take a look at our first fabulous auction item ~ a Handmade quilt featuring five years of SRV T-shirts (from 2001-2007). This treasure was made by a group of SRV parents organized and led by Carol Fishman.

Letter from the Auction Chairs

Hello everyone,

This year's auction to benefit the financial aid fund will be held in April, not in March. Aptly, we're calling it April Madness. The idea is the same as in previous years; the auction will be on-line, not live, and will feature items and services, treasures and talents, donated by the SRV community members including parents, staff, friends, alumni, grandparents, and of course the children.

We're planning to have a Preview Peek at the Prizes on Putter Day, April 19th, but right now you can stop in the office to see our very first item. Carol Fishman and the quadrangle of quilters have already made a throw comforter from the donated T-shirts and sweatshirts. It's taking up most of the wall across from Kj's desk and it's fantastic.

Please consider what item or service you would like to donate. Just a few examples of contributions to past auctions by parents and other community members are: crocheted and knitted clothing and throws, professional web site design services, delicious home made foods, restaurant gift certificates, landscaping, language instruction and PC support. The staff members have really shown off their talents by offering an afternoon of bowling, cooking lessons, hiking or fishing, dance lessons, an evening of babysitting including story time, hand-made items and the perennial favorite SRV salad dressing. The classroom groups also donate an item or a service. In the past lucky bidders have been able to win hand-painted furniture, knitted throws, pillow cases, works of art, mirrors, and bedding plants with gardening services, among other treasures.

Also, remember to encourage your friends and family to visit our site.

The auction opens at 9:00 am on April 20 and closes precisely at 7:00 pm on April 25. As always, webmaster Kevin Van Horn and I will do our utmost to keep the website as current as possible. As soon as the auction page is up and running we’ll send out the link to everyone so even before bidding begins you can look for the new items as they’re added. You'll want to check in early and often to keep track of your progress on winning your favorite items.

Together we can make April Madness as successful as the March Madness auctions have been in the past. Remember that there are no overhead expenses for the on-line auction so all of the funds we raise go directly to the financial aid fund. Then come to the Preview Peek at Putter Day and get ready for a frantic week of bidding.
