I entered SRV in Second Grade and stayed through Sixth Grade (1947 through 1953). At SRV, my teachers; Mary Spiller, a visitor exchange teacher from Belgium, Betsy Gray, Wayne Higley, and Peg Nowell were role models that gave me a lifelong passion for the arts and sciences, the natural-and-built landscape and wildlife which all surrounded SRV. My SRV un-pressured participatory-education approach, anchored around compassion, kindness, fairness, and sense of belonging, had the following impacts upon my life, education and career…
