Admissions Process

The School in Rose Valley aims to attract and retain a diverse student body that reflects a range of backgrounds and experiences to create an environment to which everyone contributes and from which everyone benefits.

The School in Rose Valley considers a student for admission based upon multiple criteria including but not limited to:

  • commitment to completing the full program through 6th-grade graduation
  • educational philosophy match between the family and the school
  • social, emotional, physical, developmental, and academic readiness
  • group dynamics and balance

Step 3: Submit an Application for Admission

We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents the ability to track the status of their child’s application. To begin the Online Application process, click the “Apply Online” button below.

We advise that applications be submitted by January 1 to ensure consideration for enrollment the following September. First round admission decisions are communicated in February and on a rolling basis thereafter, based on space availability

Step 4: Teacher Recommendations

For applicants to Preschool through 1st Grade:  Please give one Confidential Recommendation Form to your child’s current teacher and have him/her fill in the recommendation form and return it to The School in Rose Valley.

The above step does not apply if your child has not yet attended school or been in a childcare setting outside of the home.

Step 5: School Records

For children applying to 1st – 6th grades, please download the Request for Records form. Please sign the form authorizing the release of student records and give it to that school or program. They will send the records directly to us.

Step 6: Prospective Student Visits

After we receive your application and the recommendation form and school records, we will contact you to arrange for your child to visit SRV.

Admissions Visiting Day (Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st Grade applicants):
Students applying to Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st Grade spend the morning in a classroom with a group of their peers and one or two teachers doing typical classroom activities. Kindergarten and 1st grade applicants will be assessed on age appropriate academic skills. Parents remain on campus during the visit and have the opportunity to talk with SRV’s Head of School, board members, current and other prospective parents.

2nd – 6th Grade Applicants:
Applicants for 2nd – 6th grades will spend two consecutive days (8:15am-3pm) in a classroom with students in their current grade level.

Step 7:  Notification of Acceptance

You will be contacted regarding the outcome of your child’s application in February and on a rolling basis thereafter based on space availability.  It may be necessary to arrange a second visit or gather additional information about your child before a final decision is made.

Step 8:  Enrollment and Registration

An Enrollment Contract is sent with the letter of acceptance.  Registration materials are provided after the Enrollment Contract is submitted to the school office.

Tuition Assistance

In order to maximize the chance of your child receiving Tuition Assistance, please complete the steps outlined in Applying for Tuition Assistance according to the timeline. Enrollment applications are considered independently of Tuition Assistance applications. Admissions decisions are made regardless of the applicant’s need for Tuition Assistance.

We look forward to working with your family throughout the admission process. Please contact Rory Mannion, Director of Admissions, with questions regarding any aspect of the admission process: or 610.566.1088.

The School in Rose Valley admits students without regard to race, color, religious belief, ancestry, sex or national origin.
