Theater

Along with embracing the rich history of the arts in Rose Valley, SRV’s theater program also uses the tenets of progressive education and our Head, Hands, and Heart curriculum to invite our students to explore their inner theater artist. The Theater program is rooted in the elements and principles that guide the national framework for theater education. SRV’s theater program is a weekly special for the elementary program. 

Emergent curriculum allows students to explore all aspects of theater. This means storytelling, movement, set and costume design, puppetry, research, writing, performing and improvisation. The theater program is constantly evolving and collaborating with classrooms and the other Specials teachers. Students are often inspired to explore their theater skills during recess, assembly and choice time.
